Therapeutic Approach - Working Together

At Attuned Hearts Psychology, we recognise that people come to therapy with differing needs — sometimes to better understand themselves, sometimes for support and practical ways forward, and sometimes to simply feel heard when life gets hard.

Often, this follows a period where people have been doing their best to cope, using the strategies that once helped, but finding they’re no longer enough.

Therapy with Charlotte offers a thoughtful space to pause and reflect on what has been unfolding, and to consider what might be helpful now.

This often involves exploring together a person’s experiences — past and present — how these have shaped their responses, and identifying core needs that may help guide meaningful and sustainable change.

At Attuned Hearts Psychology, therapy is shaped around the individual, with care taken to understand each person in context and to work at a pace that feels supportive and manageable.

Therapy Frameworks

Therapy at Attuned Hearts Psychology is grounded in a range of established, evidence-based therapeutic frameworks.

Therapy is shaped in collaboration with each person and draws from approaches such as Schema-focused Therapy (SFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), motivational interviewing, solution-focused approaches, and family systems-informed work.

These approaches are used flexibly and thoughtfully, within a relational, trauma-aware, and attachment-informed framework. This allows therapy to be guided by research while remaining responsive to the person as a whole, the context, and their lived experience.
